Course Description
It is required by federal law that tax professionals must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number, or PTIN, if they are paid to prepare tax returns. You can face high penalties if you don’t.
Because PTINs expire every December 31st, tax preparers need to renew their PTIN before tax season starts. PTIN renewal is easy and now FREE. Preparers can renew a PTIN online in about 15 minutes or by mail in about six weeks.
